Dizzymobile

DizzymobileA most peculiar vehicle designed and built in our workshops, with two independently-steered axles. What is more, the two steering wheels are incorporated into the seats! Co-operation between the two participants is vital, as each twists and turns on his or her stool, attempting to maneuver the beast through a course marked out with cones.

Main Briefing

When you arrive you will sign a safety disclaimer and will be given name badges and score cards (if appropriate). In this briefing you will be given an overview of the activities which you have chosen and general site safety.

If score cards are given out you need to keep these with you or the instructor may have a group score card depending on the group size. This is like your driving licence, points on this licence are essentially like points on your driving licence, the less points that you have the better you are doing. The points are given for missed coned gates and knocking over cones, these points are given by the instructor.

Vehicle Briefing

The instructor will go through the controls of the vehicle and the various safety features. Spectators and people waiting for their turn, will be given a safe area to view the activity from.

The vehicle has 2 barstools at either end which are directly attached to the steering of the 2 wheels below the stool. If you are on the front of the vehicle then it is simple if you want the vehicle to go left then you spin on the barstool left and visa versa, however, if you are on the back you have to spin the opposite way to the person on the front.

Course Description

The course is made up of several pairs of cones to create gates for you to drive through. The object of this activity is to get around the course without knocking over any cones or missing any gates.

Communication with this activity is key. The person on the front of the vehicle will need to tell the person on the back which way they are going so that the person on the back can spin the opposite way! If you are both steering in the same direction then you will find that you will go sideways rather than straight! So it is important to keep an eye on those wheels.

If you do not have a drivers licence do not fear! Our very patient and experienced instructors will be there in the passengers seat to help you!
